What is bacterial growth enhancement? ============================================ The bacterial growth enhancement (GGE) system has always been used to compare the biological activity of various bacterial organisms using a broad spectrum of different media. This review will feature the results of various methods to quantify the biological activity of bacterial strains, particularly the strainy/biological assays. The review is divided into three main categories I: (a) GGE/glycolysis response; (b) g and bGGE assays; and (c) gGGE and bGGE assays. An excellent overview of the *gene expression* assay on the *Bacteroidetes* strain includes \[[@B68-marinedrugs-17-00363]\] for both “bias” and “unbiased” production of gGGE activity in various media. These kinds of assays have been published as the most frequently used tools for GGE analysis in both bacterial strains as well as their more recent combinations.
