In the post-genomic era we seek to understand the role of the amniotic membrane and its regulators in disease onset and pathology. We explore their complex role in neuropsychiatric and cardiovascular disease. **David A. Stroumbling** was Associate Professor of Neurology and head of the Department of Neurology at U.S. National Institutes of Health, and Director of Clinical Science, CCAE, with the intention of informing the authors of the current manuscript of the role of their initial evaluation of amnesia at a population level. In this paper he first argues that the current study supports both the conclusion made by the authors of the paper and the result it obtained. Furthermore, several references to recent papers appearing in the *Medical Reports* (MNR) journal that were reviewed in the abstract form do not mention post-genomic amnesia provided in the text. Therefor, Stroumbling points about a number of recent papers, and updates were made to the existing papers. Our preliminary results do not support the conclusion, however, but also bear the potential to illustrate the role of amniotic membrane protein variability that has been implicated in disease onset (see [@B102] and references ref. Introduction {#Sec1} ============ Since the last century, the treatment of neurological health has improved substantially to enhance the efficiency of the treatment of patients with psychiatric disorders \[[@CR1]–[@CR11]\]. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) abnormalities are present more frequently in individuals with psychiatric illnesses than is the general population \[[@CR5], [@CR6]\]. In addition to the severity and frequency of neurological abnormalities (ANCA (aminocapanecular calcium deficiency) and corticotropin-releasing hormone-binding globulin (CRGBG) deficiency, the treatment has focused on improvement of clinical symptoms, measured by objective tests such as Mini Mental State Examination \[[@CR5]\], while many cases have failed to achieve complete neurological recovery. The assessment of neurological deficits involves quantitative assessment of the presence and quantity of deficits and the response to therapy with markers of neurological impairment such as activation reflexes, and corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH)-I alpha (CRH-I) synaptotagmin \[[@CR12]–[@CR15]\]. The clinical benefit of CRH-I has been demonstrated in patients who do not respond to treatment with the alpha-2 receptor antagonist, atypical antipsychotics (AAP) and lithium. However, much as with treatment responders, CRHR-I responses increase 5 weeks after therapy with atypical antipsychotics. The incidence of CRHR-I patients with high CRHR-I at three to five years after treatment is likely to be more than 10% \[[@CR3]\], ranging from 5 to 13% increasing year after year.
